Is it a good idea to work while attending college full time?

I need to maintain good grades to get into the professional program after I graduate. However, I could use the money if I work and attend classes as a full time student. I am not sure if it is a good idea to do both. #professor #colleges

Amy’s Answer

My short answer is YES! If you can find a job on campus, that would be preferable as they are usually more flexible in working with your school schedule and there are limits to the number of hours you can work.

The extra money is great, but so is the experience of building work ethic. You'll generally have to be more disciplined to get everything done, but that's good practice for managing priorities and multiple projects at once.

Alyssa’s Answer

Absolutely! 1000% YES!

Finding a job is an amazing way to better your organizational skills, time management and can provide you with real life experience.

I had an on campus job for two semesters as a front desk receptionist and it was amazing! They really worked with my schedule and I was able to complete my homework in between completing my tasks. If you can find an on campus job it would be ideal, but since the pandemic began and I am not on campus anymore, I now work part-time at Bath and Body Works and they too are really understanding of putting education first.
