James’s Answer

Hi Vasili,

The Northeast US is a great place to start a career and there are many entry level job openings. I work in Hartford, CT and there are many different industries such as Insurances, Accounting, and Engineering. Other cities that are great places to start your career could be Boston, MA or Providence, RI. If you live in a more remote area such as New Hampshire or Vermont you may have a harder time finding an entry level position. My best advice would be to find a place you love to live and there should be a place to work!

Goodluck!

Syed’s Answer

I grew up in the Northeast and spent about 22 years in New York. I think that there are plenty of opportunities in the Northeast however, depending on your interest, you shouldn't limit yourself to one region. I for instance, wanted to try something new and decided to go back into the traditional taxation industry on the west coast.

You will find opportunity everywhere you look. I would suggest thinking about other factors in determining the job market that you want to work in. Other factors, such as family location and preferred weather could help shape where you want to look for a career.

Anthony’s Answer

Hi Vasili,

From personal experience, I can confidently say that there are plenty of job opportunities in the Northeast in many different fields, so I do not think is is harder to find a job here. I work in Stamford, CT and in NYC where there are a ton of job opportunities and in the surrounding areas and I know many people who commute/move to these areas because they are prime opportunity locations for jobs that tend to be on the higher paying than average side in the US, but something also to consider is in some of theses areas there is also a higher cost of living than average.

Best of luck with your future career decisions!

Matthew’s Answer

My firm has offices all over the country and in my career, I've always had the attitude of going wherever the best opportunities. I've been able to transfer a few times within the firm in my career and have found myself in the Northeast multiple times because the opportunities here have been so good.
