Good Luck in your job search!

I think it's great you are looking to start working a few hours a week and generally there are plenty of opportunities looking for workers just like you.

A few suggestions off the top of my head would be Grocery store, Pizza Place, Pet Store, Florist, Drug Store, Gyms, Salons, Fast Food.

Some local municipal buildings also have opportunities you can apply for where they look for teenagers to assist with grounds work, administrative tasks, ect.

You could also check with your local DNR or seek out summer internships online by doing a google search.

I am glad to hear you plan to start some part time job. It's good to acquire some working experience before leaving the college and finance the tertiary studies yourself. I believe you have plenty of job choices given you like cooking, art, sports , etc. and interact with people. You can explore any job opportunities in restaurants, retails business like Sales, etc. You can search this in your neighbour and also job online websites.
The most important is you have to ensure you put sufficient time for your school work and the job nature is safe to you.
Hope this makes sense and helps!

Dr. James’s Answer

I suggest doing a google job search. Google offers that free service. If you have Facebook and LinkedIn, they too offer free local job searches by categories you choose. Also, don't be afraid to go into your local supermarket or other large stores. The larger the store, the more chances they have job openings and can accommodate for part-time employees.
Good luck in your search.

Hi Krystal,

As a 16-year-old in grade 11, there are several part-time job opportunities that may be suitable for you, considering your interests in cooking, art, and sports. Here are some potential job ideas:

1. Food Service Worker: Many restaurants, cafes, and food courts in Beaudesert, Australia are always looking for part-time staff to work as servers, hosts/hostesses, or kitchen hands. Your interest in cooking could be an asset in this role, and you may have the opportunity to learn new culinary skills.
2. Retail Sales Associate: If you enjoy art and sports, you may find part-time work at a local sporting goods store or art supply store. These types of retailers often hire high school students to work part-time, and you could use your passion for these subjects to engage with customers and provide recommendations.
3. Youth Program Leader: Many community centers, recreation facilities, and sports clubs in Beaudesert offer programs for young people, such as after-school activities, sports leagues, and art classes. As an outgoing but shy person, you may be well-suited to leading these programs and engaging with younger children.

To find these types of jobs, you can start by searching online job boards, such as Seek.com.au or Indeed.com, using keywords like "part-time," "high school," "Beaudesert," and the types of jobs I mentioned above. You can also check with local businesses in your area to see if they have any openings. Additionally, you may want to consider reaching out to your school's career counselor or a local employment agency for assistance in finding a part-time job that fits your interests and schedule.

Remember to always prioritize your schoolwork and ensure that any part-time job you take on does not interfere with your studies. Good luck in your job search!
