What classes in college do I need to take to get into aerospace engineering?

I am asking this questions due to the fact that I've been interested in aerospace ever since I began to look at the stars and what lies past our current reach in space. I am currently a senior in highschool down in Miami Florida. #college #college-major #aerospace-engineering

Hey there! If you find yourself in sunny Florida, I'd highly suggest you check out Embry-Riddle's Aerospace Engineering degree program! I earned both my degrees there and during that time, there was a strong emphasis on equipping students with a solid understanding of instrumentation and propulsion.

Currently, I'm working at an aerospace manufacturer, and trust me, there's always a high demand for experts in propulsion. From my experience in the industry, I've noticed that there are typically more job opportunities for mechanical engineers compared to chemical or civil engineers. But don't worry, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a great stepping stone that can open many doors for you!

Great to hear Luis! We definitely need more engineers!

The best course you can take to get an idea of what its like is definitely Physics. Particularly Physics M (Mechanics) which is how things move. It will give you a rough idea of what classes in Aerospace will be like. You should also definitely consider taking a programming class. Every engineering discipline is now getting more involved with computers. From modeling to writing programs to control things, it's ubiquitous everywhere. I would just take a class to see how you like it. Even a design class using Solidworks or CAD would be great as well since those teach you to model and build things.

Good luck!
