Letita’s Answer

This was once a degree I considered due to my passion for basketball but there was no WNBA when I graduated. Depending on the level of your degree you do have other options other than physical therapy. For example, you can become a Sporting goods manager, athletic trainer, occupational therapist and choreographer. Check out southeastern.edu for a list of related occupations for a degree in Kinesiology.

Letita recommends the following next steps:

Decide from the list of options what interests you and research what the salary ranges are. That would be the best way to make a decision you can commit to.

Madeline’s Answer

The most lucrative jobs with a B.S. in kinesiology would require a master's or doctorate in PT or OT. With the bachelors only, you could do athletic training, coaching, P.E. teacher, etc. You can be a personal trainer or exercise physiologist with certifications and not have a degree. I have a degree in kinesiology and I was a personal trainer for a while, then a stretch therapist, neither make much money so now I am a technician. Honestly though, there's so much you can do with a bachelor's in science, not necessarily related to kinesiology; the fact that you have a degree is half the struggle. If you get the bachelor's and want to get a master's , you can go to school for the master's degree in almost any subject. Most masters programs just require that you have a bachelors and a certain GPA and some prerequisites.
