Hi Jaheim. I have been a paraprofessional. It is a great way to earn experience if you are interested in becoming a teacher. Check out your local school district, and reach out with questions. I also encourage you to do research on paraprofessional roles in schools. If you are passionate about helping students, this could be a great first step.

I would echo Victoria's answer and encourage you to reach out to your local school district. Inquire about job shadowing with a paraprofessional for a day or even longer to understand the nuances of the job. It also would be helpful to job shadow with multiple different people in different schools. Being a paraprofessional can be very challenging on some days, but incredibly rewarding and enriching for yourself and the student (s) you work with. Talk about a career that has a positive impact on future generations!
