There are Federal and State Workmen's Comp laws that may offer benefits and some businesses have health and/or business insurance that may as well.
The smaller the business the more likely that there would be fewer options and this would be a great question to ask before accepting a job offer. I wouldn't ask too early since you don't want employers to wonder if you may be accident prone.
