Hillary’s Answer

Typically in a hospital the shifts are 12 hours if you are doing bedside work... ER, ICU, Med/Surg, Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, NICU, etc. Many office nurse jobs are 8-10 hours. Lots of Operating Room, PACU, Recovery rooms, outpatient surgery centers, educators, case management will be 8-10 hours also. There are also some jobs where you make your own hours such as case management from home office or legal nursing consultant.
