How do I get into a good medical school with the strengths I have and the hobbies I have ? What do I need to change to be mindset ready to be a General Surgeon ?

If my strengths are helping others and learning new things fast and my hobbies are cooking and dancing what type of careers would fit me ? What other strengths or experiences I might need to achieve my dream job and career?

Hello Jaycea, this is a great question.

Few important things I would first like to address. Don’t change for the job, let the job change you. Each person whom enters the medical field is inspiring because of their strengths inside and outside of work.

Look for opportunities to Volunteer
If you can speak with a Physician to be a mentor for you that is beneficial.
Join Organizations.

I hope this is helpful.
Best of luck!

Medicine is hard work and being able to have discipline to push yourself to study and take breaks is an asset. Everyone brings something unique to the team. Take the process one step at a time. Get your Bachelor's degree, volunteer in the health field to decide if medicine is still for you, take the MCAT, apply to medical school. You can get a mentor to help guide you. It doesn't have to be a surgeon initially as the process is the same till you get through medical school. In medical school it would be more beneficial to have a mentor in your chosen field. If medicine is your end goal remember it's not always a linear road. There may be detours but try to get back on the road along the way.
