Yes however, you need to take into consideration that there is no such thing as "part time acting", once you a part of a project. Why? Well, realize that acting takes majority of your time when you are cast. You may need to take a break from baking once you get cast.

Thank you comment icon This is absolutely true about acting. It tooks most of your time and it's not completely accurate when or where you are by the time because of the different locations that is not up to you. It's just the director decision and many other items and factors are included that you can not choose. You should obey the team. But. It happens that 4 months you don't have a job and are free and unemployed. 😆 Nooshin Zare نوشین زارع

Actually, it's good to be focused, most of the time. Yet, if you love acting, limiting yourself to the Disney Channel or part-time actor means you 1) are seeking fame or 2) you feel it would be a fun hobby.

Acting can be part-time, certainly; only because it is nearly impossible to predict if and how often you will actually get acting work. There are so many acting levels and places. Community theatre, local tv stations, student films, amateur YouTube videos/series; iPhone videos and 100s of studios! Disney Channel is just one. When you are a professional actor, even child actors, it is business.

The Disney Channel actors probably have also worked for dozens of other studios. Their managers/agents send them on auditions wherever they are; ABC, NBC, Disney, Dreamworks, Village Roadshow, HBO and on and on.

You must be 18 and live in either California, New York or Chicago to get to auditions. If you are under 18, you MUST have a parent/guardian backing your career.

If you are seeking fame...that is not a "career". Sometimes actors become famous, most never do. And fame does not mean everyone likes them. Famous people are not always happy because they get no privacy. People even ask them for pictures or autographs in the restroom!

If you love baking. And if you work full-time baking, and it makes you happy; you will be happy just watching the Disney Channel.

Certainly if you are a Baker, they do hire cooks/chefs and bakers for the Commissary or "Craft Services" wherever they do TV and films. You won't be an Actor; but you could work with actors ... basically feeding them.

Of course, with a full-time day job (Baker); you can do part-time acting in your local community theatre and train as an Actor.

If you love acting, really love it, you will find you love it anywhere.

Anything is possible! Consider choosing one area to work on then the other. The two that you've mentioned sound exciting. Who knows, you may be able to do both at the same place!

My daughter loves baking and got a summer job in a pastry shop. She did some baking there but also serving customers and handling payments. Are there any pastry shops near you? Or even the bakery department of a grocery store? good luck
