Hi Karina;

Nursing school can be very challenging and competitive to get into. Start by researching which universities offer nursing programs. Familiarize yourself with the application requirements and if there are any prerequisites that are required. The application process is usually very specific and time sensitive. Apply to several schools if possible. Watch the university websites for open houses or informational meetings from the nursing department. Call the nursing department directly for specific questions. Some schools are more difficult to get into then others. Good luck. All your hard work will pay off in the end.

Matthew’s Answer

Hi Karina.

I am not an RN but my wife is a nurse and went on to pursue an advanced degree and is now a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). A career in nursing can be very rewarding and there is a big push to use advanced practice nurses throughout healthcare. The best advice I can give you is to continue your education and pursue one of the many advanced practice nursing designations.
