Hi Zhiana,

I can relate to your comment above as I am currently in my second semester (first year) at my university. I would like to share a few tips that work for me, and I hope this will help you as well:
- Always make a to-do list for the tasks you wish to accomplish on that day (make sure it is not too much, otherwise you will feel overwhelmed), you can start by adjusting yourself to this habit.
- Communication is the key! You can find your learning partner in your class (zoom meeting if you're attending your course online), what I do is send a simple message to a friend who I wished to study with and make friends with them.
- Join social activities, it would help you a lot in matching with friends who have the same interest as you
- Make an assignment list - this helps to remind you of your upcoming assignments and make sure you do not leave it until a week before the deadline.
- Use a timer when studying (I use the pomofocus app on the website) -this helps me a lot in sticking to the tasks that I'm working on (What i do is learn for 25 minutes and have a 5 minutes quick break)

Hope these tips may give you some advantages! Good luck with your studies!
Best Regards,
Jess

Hi Zhiana,

I was in the same boat as you before going to college. Here are some tips of what I did as a Freshman:
1. Make a calendar to stay organized. You can either do this with a notebook, or with your phone/computer
2. Get enough sleep everything. Believe it or not, this makes a huge difference. I stopped doing this my 3rd year, and I was much more tired during the day and grades dropped.
3. Prepare ahead of time for exams.
4. Know when office hours/tutor sessions are. Add them to your calendar in case you need to go.
5. Be relaxed, and have fun. College is awesome!

Best of luck!

Best regards,
Herman
