Justin’s Answer

Studies reveal that getting multiple concussions can have serious long-term effects. Football players are especially at high risk for CTE, a brain condition. Look it up and stay safe!

Dominick’s Answer

Basically any and all impact injuries (concussions, contusions, broken bones) and strains from overuse of muscles. And underlying medical conditions can be aggravated by intense physical exercise, which football can be. Note, though, that injuries are essentially a fact of playing any contact sport.

Matthew’s Answer

Dominick's absolutely right. My son played football in high school. You will always have bumps, bruises, etc. But he played basketball too and guess what, he had bumps and bruises and sprains, etc. And sometimes you'll feel pressure to play through maybe something you shouldn't (and that pressure may also be internally driven, not your coach or teammate pressuring you). Recognize the difference between being hurt and injured (and concussed).
But know what else? He loved every minute of it and would do it all over again. Life lessons playing on teams you don't get in class or in the (teenage) real world.
