Hello! My name is Emily and I am a current high school student. I'm conducting an interview with any professional in the Trauma Therapist field for a Foundations in Health Science Class project about careers! I have created a total of some questions that I am curious about in this profession.

1. What profession did you choose? Why?
2. How many years of college did you go through?
3. What jobs did you work on before you landed your present professional job?

Hi Emily!

Just to clarify, I'm not a trauma therapist myself, but I work in a corporate setting where I've held several people-centered roles. My background includes working in customer service and technical support, then growing into coaching, people engagement, and internal communications. I've been especially focused on improving employee experience, encouraging volunteerism, and creating positive workplace culture, all of which tie into well-being, which is closely related to mental health.

To answer your questions as best as I can:

What profession did you choose? Why?
I chose a career in people engagement and internal communications because I love connecting with others, supporting teams, and making a difference in how people feel at work. While it's not clinical like trauma therapy, it's still about mental wellness and connection, just in a different environment.

How many years of college did you go through?
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business English, which typically takes around three years, and then I went on for a Master's in Specialized Translation for another year.

What jobs did you work on before you landed your present professional job?
I started as a technical solutions representative for HP, helping customers solve tech issues. Then I became a call coach, supporting teammates in their performance and communication. Now I’m in a people engagement and communications lead role, where I focus on storytelling, organizing events, boosting morale, and keeping employees informed and connected.
I hope this can help your project and good luck with your project! 👏
