Medical assistants are in demand in the health care field. You can work in a doctor's office or in some hospital settings. The Benefits to this role are getting in to the healthcare field sooner than nursing, and you may get tuition reimbursement for nursing school if you work for a hospital.

There are many benefits: 1)you will understand the roles of healthcare professionals that differ from the one you are pursuing; 2) you will develop some healthcare related skills that you will carry with you into the medical field; 3) your experience will give you additional "points" when your application for your career is considered (thee are waiting lists for many health -related careers); 4) you will develop one on one and more personal relationships with patients - which many individuals who enter medicine to not get the opportunity to experience.
