What types of behaviors and mannerisms should I exhibit when trying to become hired in a Security position?
Are there certain codes, or things I should look out for? What do I do if I need to communicate with another coworker non-verbally?

A I would definitely be aware of the limitations that your clearance entails in your day-to-day life. This will give you a good basis of certain codes you need to adhere by. I would also not talk about your clearance publicly (social media, out in public, etc) as this can definitely draw attention to yourself.

As a security professional, I believe there are few essential elements to excel in this field. Firstly, being well-informed about the organization's policies relevant to your role enables you to perform your duties effortlessly. Secondly, maintaining a calm demeanor allows you to adapt to any situation that may arise. Lastly, displaying honesty by clearly communicating the situation and addressing it helps build trust with those who depend on you, ensuring they follow your guidance.

It's already great that you're thinking about your behavior and the way you carry yourself in order to get hired; making sure you know and can fit into the culture of the field or company you're trying to break into is always a good place to start for your career prep. If you're interested in unspoken codes or norms in the field, I would reach out on Linkedin or other social media to current employees at private security firms, or who manage security services at large businesses, to ask them to give you a sense of what they're looking for in their security staff.
