Hi Laila - Take plenty of science courses in High school. I went to community college and obtained an ADN. You will sit for the same State board as a Bachelor prepared Nurse. You then have an option to work and go to school or go to school. The Nurse Practitioner status can only be reached from a Bachelor degree. Different schools have prerequistes for entry. The school I attended required a minimum of 2 yrs RN experience. While working - you can make a decision of your specialty choice. The Nursing profession needs more people. Please embrace this love to become a NP. Best of luck your future endeavors

Depending on where you are at in high school, may change your plans. Try and get College credits while in high school, either through Duel enrollment or if your AP classes give you College credit.

Duel enrollment is were you take college classes and get both high school and college credit at same time. There are some programs and grants available yet again decreasing amount of money you have to pay out of pocket

Secondly go to a community college for RN degree. Saves a lot of money on tuition. While in nursing school , some hospitals hire 2nd year nursing students and hospitals pay your tuition.

Thirdly, apply to hospital in area of speciality you would like to be nurse practitioner. Apply to online school for RN - MSN or start with RN- BSN programs. Yet again the hospital should have tuition reimbursement and pay for your school.

I wish I had known this when I was first starting school, it would have saved me a lot of money.
Best of luck. ME
