Vilash’s Answer

Absolutely, don't ever let go of your dreams. The world needs more doctors, and because of this, there are plenty of grants, low-interest loans, and scholarships available. I've witnessed many of my friends overcome financial hurdles to become incredible doctors. So, keep pushing forward, your dreams are within reach!

Annie’s Answer

Absolutely. I come from a lower-middle class home and always dreamed of becoming a doctor. During my senior year of high school I focused on getting a high SAT school, and went to a college that offered me a scholarship. In college I had to work full time to afford rent and still managed to get into dental school my first try. It’s not easy, and it might be harder for you than for those who don’t have to work while attending school, but it’s still possible!

Annie recommends the following next steps:

Come up with a plan on how to excel on the SAT.
Work hard to maintain a good GPA.
Attend a college that offers degrees for future doctors (biomedical sciences, biology, chemistry).
Take it one day at a time!

Hello, according to my research you can become a doctor. Look into local and national scholarships. You will need to complete a bachelor's degree, traditionally people study biology and then attend a 4 year medical school. But there are scholarships for science that may help you afford college. Here is 2 websites with more information about scholarships: https://www.moneymax.ph/personal-finance/articles/scholarships-philippines
and https://scholarshipstory.com/scholarships-in-the-philippines/

Here is a quora conversation from someone who shared your same concerns. There is some great advice about passing the necessary exams and what programs you can take advantage of: https://www.quora.com/Can-a-lower-middle-class-girl-become-a-doctor-without-much-expenses-and-in-a-short-span-of-time

Good luck! You will do great! Never give up on your dreams doctor!

Katrina’s Answer

If others can do it, why can't you? Work smart, do your best in school, be laser-focus on your studies. Take it one step at a time, if there are opportunities for scholarships and grants, grab it.
