Regarding your savings, if you haven't opened a savings account yet, do so as soon as possible. Some banks allow you to open an account with as little as $10. Then, decide on a consistent amount you want to save from each paycheck and make sure to deposit it into your savings account regularly.

Hi, this is an excellent question. We don't know how old you are, and that makes a difference. Also, we don't know if you are looking for full-time or part-time work.

If you are in college, there may be part-time jobs right there. You could find out about those through the career center or maybe a dean's office. The career center would also be a good source for jobs off campus and after you graduate.

As others have mentioned, you can set up agents on various job boards, e.g., Indeed, Glassdoor to identify opportunities. Usually, it is not enough to just apply through the board, however. You should see if you know someone in the company who could recommend you and contact them. Sometimes other boards, such as Nextdoor and Craig's List, have part-time or temporary jobs.

Setting up information interviews is great for full-time work. It may not produce an opportunity immediately, but it puts you on the right track.

If you are looking for job, you may need to test yourself first; the reason is that most job announcements and their criteria tends to be more strict when it comes to expectations on requirements.

If you have previously experienced on volunteering, and/or internship, and/or part-time job, you may surf the internet; job board, look at the requirements, then match with your soft & hard skills as well as emotional intelligence. Then if all those matched, you may need to search their recruitment steps (usually first interview, complete and answer all questions on survey, group work, and the final interview), therefore you need to search interview questions. Mostly they may ask;

Numerical (if needed),

Salary expectations,

Introduction (tell about yourself),
previous experience related to your major,

and more critical questions.

Note: If you have not experienced extracurricular activities or volunteering and/or internship yet, you may need to start with this path.
