Jerome’s Answer

BA degree is simply a college degree that is typically obtained in 4 years. You get to chose a specific school (Business, Math, Psychology, Journalism, etc) and hyper focus on learning more about that discipline. Within a BA, some also get an AA which is a two year college degree.

Karen’s Answer

Hello Avaneesh,

A degree is what you earn after finishing a college program. This could be a 4 year or 2-year program. You asked about a BA specifically which is a Bachelors of Art, and that's a 4-year college program. There is also a BS which is a Bachelor’s of Science. The Bachelors of Art (BA) will focus on more heavily on the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Careers could range from acting to social worker. The Bachelors of Science (BS) will have more course work in subjects like science, math, technology. With either program the degree is the general classification, from there you will determine a Major. For example, I have a Bachelor’s of Science, and my major was Accounting. I hope this helps!
