Hello there!

I'm a remote product owner, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a company that values flexibility. My day kicks off early at 7am, where I dive into my emails and keep tabs on my dedicated scrum team's progress. At 8am, I take a short pause to get my kids on the bus, then it's back to work.

My schedule is packed with meetings until about 12:30, mainly because I collaborate with teams based in Dublin, and our overlapping work hours are limited. Once the meetings wrap up, I dedicate the next couple of hours to follow-up tasks and deep-dive work. This includes crafting presentations, documenting crucial information, and developing guidelines, among other tasks.

Around 3:45, I switch gears and welcome my kids back from school. If there's time, I enjoy spending the next hour or so catching up with my coworkers until about 5. But when my kids have after-school activities, I make sure to wrap up my work as soon as they're home. It's a busy day, but the balance between work and family time makes it all worthwhile!

Great question. My typical workday consist of the following activities. There are days that are busiest but other days that are low on work, it just depends on the priorities but also preparation leading to simpler tasks.

A typical workday often includes:

1) Communication: Checking and responding to emails and engaging in meetings with colleagues and clients.
2) Project Work: Focusing on tasks and projects specific to their role, such as data analysis, strategic planning, or sales.
3) Networking: Engaging in networking activities and attending industry events or meetings with partners.
4) Administrative Tasks: Handling paperwork, budgeting, and record-keeping to ensure organizational efficiency.
5) Professional Development: Allocating time for learning new skills and staying updated on industry-related developments.

Repeat similar steps for either the next day or the following week. Typically networking it is communicating with my peers within my group or outside of my group. These five steps may vary from one professional to another.

Wrapping up my day involves jotting down notes about the day's events. Any information I've gathered from site visits is incorporated into my drawings, or I might create a new sketch to clearly convey the details to all the vendors, subcontractors, clients, and my team members. This ensures we're all on the same wavelength.

My job is incredibly engaging and dynamic, but I absolutely love it! The variety each day brings keeps things exciting.

There's no one monitoring every single minute of your day because they trust that you're responsible enough to handle your business. A usual day involves a blend of both internal and external gatherings.

Internal gatherings can vary, encompassing team assemblies, product learning sessions, and company-wide conferences where you actively participate by listening and posing queries about recent updates.

External gatherings, on the other hand, are held with prospective clients or with our existing customers. These meetings are centered around understanding their current activities and how they are utilizing our product. There is also the idea of upselling / cross selling to this customer

In my current position, my usual work schedule is from 9 in the morning to 5 in the evening. However, when I was in consulting, my working hours were more flexible and dependent on the situation. Normally, I would work for 40 hours a week. But in cases where there was an immediate deadline to meet or the team was short-staffed, I had to put in extra hours. There were even instances, spanning a few months, where I found myself working until 4 o'clock in the early morning.

What a fantastic question! No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes it so exciting. If I were to boil it down, I'd say it involves a whole lot of interacting with people. I spend a good chunk of my time in meetings, lending an ear to people's issues, and guiding them towards solutions. Yes, it often clocks in at more than 40 hours a week, but when you're passionate about your job and find joy in assisting others, those extra hours hardly feel like work at all!

Hello Owen,

I'm doing about 100 hours a week so that's 5000 hours last year putting the DIET WIZARD together to give people nutrition instruction on how to beat diseases. 43 years ago I was training doctors so I suppose those people now basically just about to finish their life so I'm bit of an old man.

I'm not scared of work with that quantity of work you really get better quickly at whatever you're attempting whether it's writing a book or consulting clients online. I volunteer too on www.careervillage.org giving students course information and career consulting. I worked so hard in February that I won the Mentor Award.

I've done a bit of consulting lately but a friend who is a naturopath in private practice and he goes to America and helps the homeless he talks at churches he goes to not just LA but New York and talks to homeless people about good nutrition improving their nutrition so I teamed up with him and I've produced a nutrition rescue formula which could be used in places like the Ukraine.

As a Technical Program Manager, my day usually kicks off bright and early at 6:00 AM. By 9:00 AM, I'm all set for my work meetings, although there are some days when my workday starts even earlier, at 7:00 AM.

Most days, I wrap up my work by 6:00 PM. However, there are a couple of days in the week when I take a short break at 6:00 PM, only to dive back in at 9:00 PM. This helps me sync up with our global teams scattered across various time zones.

My job is all about teaming up with technical groups and project stakeholders. I'm the one who ensures that project timelines and deliverables are on track. It's crucial for me to be aware of my colleagues working in different time zones to keep everything running smoothly.
