The biggest piece of advice I would give is to make yourself a well-rounded applicant. On top of your grades, it is also important to get involved outside of the classroom in clubs, activities, volunteering initiatives, etc. I also recommend reaching out to people who have already gone through the odontologist program and ask them questions about their experience. LinkedIn can be a great place to start. You can also reach out to professors or people who work in the program and ask to set up a coffee chat with them.

I would not limit your college experience to Columbia. there are great colleges everywhere! Apply to many and make sure you include extra-curricular activities and any volunteering that you do. If you have worked, that is also a plus! The more schools you apply to, the more chances for scholarship money. Keep track of everything with an excel sheet. visit schools and see what the environment is like.
