What are some good companies to work for in the field of Mechanical Engineering?

I am obtaining my AA in May 2025 and I plan to advance my education with my Bachelors but I am unsure what companies to work for or at least should consider. I know certain places will reach out but I want to consider places to work prior to ensure they possess what I am looking for.

This is tough to answer, it really depends what is important to you. If you are interested in benefits and making sure you are paid top of the market for your profession then look into the usual FAANG / big tech companies, Meta, Google, Amazon etc.

If its something else like innovation, or working with the newest tech then maybe a start-up would be more your style? Check out this list of top US start-ups and maybe look into the background of one or two to see if it sparks your interests.

what do you like to do? What are you interested in? Do you have friends that are ME's? Almost all large companies employ ME's. If you are into Cars GM Ford or other manufacturers, but the you need to know if you are interested in Designing Cars, Car and truck assembly processes, Facility Management, Environmental Control, Component R&D etc. The same is true for Construction Equipment Manufacturers (Caterpillar for example)or Airplane manufacturers(Boeing for example). Your choice of becoming a mechanical Engineer is a great way to open the doors to a lot of companies, but that is also a large issue of which company to work for but during your studies you ought to ask the question What do I want to apply my mechanical engineering skills to do or accomplish that will retain your interests? A Mechanical engineer can work in a lot of different companies that do all sorts of stuff if you think that an Engineer is someone who solves technical problems using science (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Thermodynamics Etc) it is easy to see that engineering is an interesting field for Science folks. The demand for engineering is broad based, so start with your present interests and aim to work with that but keep flexible so that as you learn in your studies you can make the best decision when you graduate.
While in school find someone that will mentor you to get the best fit for your future.
