Amarnath’s Answer

I am cyber security expert,I will ans this in terms of cyber security :

The future of artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity holds significant potential for both defenders and attackers. Here are some key trends and considerations:

Threat Detection and Prevention:

AI will play a crucial role in improving threat detection and prevention. Machine learning algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data to identify patterns indicative of cyber threats, enabling faster and more accurate responses to potential attacks.
Behavioral Analytics:

AI-powered behavioral analytics will become more prevalent. By learning and understanding normal user and system behaviors, AI systems can quickly detect deviations that may indicate unauthorized access or malicious activities.
Automation of Responses:

AI-driven automation will enhance the speed of response to cyber threats. Security systems can autonomously take actions such as blocking suspicious IP addresses, isolating compromised systems, or even adapting security protocols in real-time.
Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs):

AI will be crucial in dealing with sophisticated and evolving threats, such as advanced persistent threats. AI algorithms can adapt to new attack techniques and identify subtle, long-term intrusions that may go unnoticed by traditional security measures.
Deception Technologies:

AI will be integrated into deception technologies, creating realistic traps and decoys to mislead attackers and divert them away from actual sensitive data or systems.
Enhanced Authentication:

AI will contribute to the development of more robust authentication mechanisms, including biometric and behavioral authentication, making it more challenging for unauthorized users to gain access.
AI in Insider Threat Detection:

AI will be applied to identify insider threats by monitoring and analyzing employee behavior. This includes recognizing unusual patterns that may indicate malicious intent or compromised credentials.
Quantum Computing Challenges:

The rise of quantum computing poses both opportunities and challenges for AI in cybersecurity. While quantum computing can break certain encryption methods, AI will be vital in developing new, quantum-resistant security measures.
Security for AI Systems:

As AI becomes more integral to cybersecurity, there will be a focus on ensuring the security of AI systems themselves. Protecting AI models from adversarial attacks and ensuring the integrity of training data will be essential.
Skills Gap Mitigation:

AI can help address the shortage of cybersecurity professionals by automating routine tasks and allowing human experts to focus on more complex and strategic aspects of cybersecurity.
While AI offers significant advancements in enhancing cybersecurity, it's essential to address ethical considerations, potential biases, and the continuous evolution of both AI and cyber threats. The collaboration between human experts and AI systems will be crucial for establishing effective defense strategies in the evolving landscape of cybersecurity.

Michelle’s Answer

Hello, Cooks !

What a contemporary, interesting inquiry and all I can share is what I know about three types of work/employment that are already using Artificial Intelligence - Writing, Film and Television and Human Resources.

The recent strike settlement of the Screen Actors Guild/ American Film, Television and Radio Artists Union has agreed to use AI to produce actor imagery for films and TV (I am not aware of what or how it will be implemented for radio). The President of SAG/AFTRA and her Board have approved substituting imagery for live actors by using a whole actor's image or maybe even parts as performers in projects. They decided that they would pay the real actor according to how long it takes to create the image and give the actor 48 hours notice that they want to do that. I believe that the actor can either choose to accept that or tell them they're not interested when asked. With Artificial Intelligence, they can resurrect an actor who has passed away, ask permission of their estate and put that actor in a film. I heard that they have done this already with a famous actor who worked from the 1930s to 1990s named Jimmy Stewart, but I haven't seen the film.

There now exists an Artificial Intelligence Program for Human Resource Departments to conduct employment interviews. They pick an AI image which looks like a person to be the interviewer and it is done online. The AI will ask the applicant a question and the applicant has a set time to provide the answer. The videos are than reviewed by the person hiring to select a candidate.

You may already be aware that AI is currently also being used for writing. It can be used to write web content, documents, just about anything. If you want to know more about AI, there is a wealth of information on the internet about it but getting input on Career Village will start your awareness of how it's being used and how or when you may encounter it.

Best wishes to you !

I am convinced that artificial intelligence (AI) is set to revolutionize the world as we currently understand it. A significant number of occupations will be affected, potentially leading to joblessness in certain instances.
Thank you comment icon I agree, Jermaine, that AI will revolutionize the world. Usually when a new technology is introduced, there are often new opportunities introduced as well. You are right that some jobs will be phased out but the technology can open up new terrain for new jobs. Sharyn Grose, Admin

Jerome’s Answer

When GPS-enabled items came out, "experts" were concerned that "humans would no longer be able to navigate or read maps." That didn't happen. When texting and e-mail appeared on the scene, concerns were raised that "people would no longer be able to communicate verbally or face-to-face." That didn't happen either. Now we're hearing concerns that "AI will replace human thought and people will be reduced to the level of machines." That's unlikely to happen.

AI is a family of technologies, and like any other technology, it needs to be managed from an administrative and from a legislative perspective. We'll make some mistakes along the way. Hopefully we'll listen to a broad spectrum of ideas and learn to adapt our thinking to the advantages AI/ML provides while learning to train AI/ML implementations to improve the lives of the humans who will come to depend on it.
