What sort of stats do I need to get into pharmacy school at Northeastern University?

Hello Rohit,

I went to Northeastern University as my undergraduate institution. Admissions to Northeastern is very very competitive. You'll need almost perfect GPA, almost perfect SAT scores and great leadership and outside activities to gain admissions. I think it has even gotten more competitive these days and I'd advise you to be almost perfect in everything you do, especially if you want to qualify for a scholarship. The pharmacy program is one of the better programs at Northeastern, so it'll be as competitive as the business school that I went to.

Hi Rohit,

The pharmacy program at Northeastern University has an acceptance rate of 11%.

There are several pathways to admission:

You can apply right after high-school and do your undergrad requirements as well as the actual PharmD program at Northeastern (Early Assurance Pathway). It will take 6 years to graduation (2 years pre-professional + 4 years professional).

If you are already in a bachelors program (but not yet graduated), you can transfer into the 2nd pre-professional or 1st professional year of the pharmacy program.

If you have already earned a bachelors and fulfilled all the pre-requisites, you can directly enter the 1st professional year of the pharmacy program.

For the professional part, you need to apply through PharmCAS. An overall GPA and a pre-requisite science GPA of at least 3.0 is preferred (I am not sure what's competitive though). Try to aim for 3.5 or higher. Keep in mind that your GPA and test scores are not the only factors that go into an admission decision. You also have letters of recommendation and your personal statement to make your case. Extracurriculars, internships and volunteer work can also boost your application.

This day's colleges and university are not just looking for students with high grades or GPA; however, they are looking for students who are well-rounded.
