It all depends on where you go, if you are going in-state or our-of-state, how many scholarships you will get, and what skills you have. I would say to first figure out where you want to go and understand how much you will have to pay to go their. I would also say to learn skills that would be able to pay you more when you are in college. There are endless jobs you can do and you are not only limited to those that are on your campus and typical jobs like working at a restaurant/store. I would say there is not necessarily a good amount of money you can make but on the higher end for a college student, I would say around 20-25 dollars per hour is really good. Also one recommendation is to apply for as many scholarships as you can. I know there are annoying and writing essays for various scholarships may such, but they can earn you much more money than your job can. Think about it like this: You spend a month working 10-20 hours a week making $15/hr after tax. That would net you about $600-$1200 working 40/80 hours. If you spend an hour a day applying for scholarships, you could win some that make you $1K-$5K or even more depending on the scholarships you sign up for. And that is if you only win one scholarship. You spent 30 hours and made much more. I know you wouldn't necessarily see the money yourself because it would go to your tuition, but trust me you will thank yourself in the future.

My suggestion is to first determine how much money you will need for college. If you live with family and attend a local college, your costs will be tuition and books. If you attend out of state, you will have dormitory fees, plus food expenses, and travel expenses to consider. As a student, you have a limited number of hours to work, so you need to reduce costs as much as possible.
