If I go into the Special Education as my major could I do psychology as my minor ?
I have had interests in doing psychology and I think that it would also help a lot of how to understand more of the kids that ide be teaching.

Try to take as many TESL classes as you can. It varies from state to state but they are Teaching English as a Second Language classes. Psychology is a good minor.

Absolutely! Psychology pairs great with education and allows you to understand human behavior and development better. Every school's program is different. Some programs may be set up so that you can easily earn a minor while completing your regular coursework; look at using your program's free electives to take courses toward the minor. Also, consider one or two summer classes at a local community college that can transfer - not only is it cheaper, but many times, it can be done online.

Psychology as a minor or even a second major would work well with Special Education. It will give you more insights and possible career choices as you begin working. I have a psychology degree and later transitioned to teaching. Both degrees help me work with exceptional learners, giving me a fuller scope of thought to find resources and strategies to assist them. May your choice be fruitful and rewarding.

I am in the field of education and I took courses in both my undergraduate and graduate studies because:
-it provides you with a deeper understanding of human development, which is crucial when working with students who have special needs.
- the skills you acquire through a Psychology minor are highly transferable to the field of Special Education when it comes to assessing students' needs, designing individualized education plans, and collaborating with families and other professionals.
