How Do I Get Through Pre-Reqs?
I am a mom, nurse, college student, and now I'm "coaching" my 9 year olds' rec league soccer team!!! I know it's a lot, but I want to be involved with my kids, but I need to work and I'm trying to get my RN so I can provide a better life for them. I am currently enrolled in A&P 1 and my humanities course is Intro to Philosophy. The A&P I'm pretty sure I will eventually get the hang of, once we get past the petty junk of neutrons and all that. When it gets into the stuff I actually understand, I'm not worried about that. Intro to Philosophy?! (YAWN)! I have no idea what I was thinking getting into THAT!!! Anyway, I guess I'm trying to ask if anyone has any ideas on how to organize my life and ALL of these things I'm doing ALL. AT. ONE. TIME. LOL!

One practical tip: try setting up a shared digital calendar (like Cozi or Skylight) for your whole family. Pre-planning your week and putting everyone’s activities, work shifts, and assignments in one place can help you stay organized and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Plus, everyone can check the calendar and stay on the same page. You’ve got this!

Establishing a good routine now will be helpful. Once you start the nursing courses, the clinical time will also have to be added into the equation. I recommend being honest to yourself about how much you can do in addition to your studies and everyday parenting duties. Nursing school won’t last forever!
A last thought is to find out if anybody in your classes has children about the age of yours. If so, you could study together while the kiddos play!
I wish you the best as you work towards becoming a nurse!
