1. what's the longest have you been on the road? 2. What's the best company I could possibly work for in the trucking industry? 3. What credentials do you have and what different opportunities are available within the trucking industry because of your credentials?

I am a student at a job corps in cali and I just want to know more about the trucking industry so I can know what Im going to be getting into

Hi Prince, the best company to start with is Swift or Werner Transportation. They will hire you with no experience as long as you have your CDL. I hope this answer helps. Good luck!

I am not personally in trucking but have two close relatives who are both over the road truckers. Many companies will offer training programs, including for new people interested in trucking. Many will also provide training for the certifications that are necessary. You will find there are many specialized certifications that may interest you. Driving refrigerators, dump trucks, open and closed trailers, etc. are require different certifications. I would talk to others in trucking and ask them for what programs they recommend. I would also research which companies have good reviews for providing good training and being fair to their drivers. The most important thing my relatives told me --- always keep a clean driving record. That is your biggest asset and is highly desirable when hiring a driver.
