I am assuming that the question you're asking is - Is it possible to start a business that reflects my passion for cosmetics. The short answer is "yes" it is. Every cosmetic product that you enjoy was created by a business - there is nothing to stop you from starting the next cosmetics start-up.

I would suggest that you start your career working for a cosmetics company and learn the different aspects of the business - product design, research + development, sales, manufacturing, distribution.

The cosmetics business is quite involved. You would benefit from learning how other companies handle the different aspects of their business. Once you feel you have achieved some level of mastery, THEN start your own cosmetics business.

Thank you comment icon Mike actually said it all,you have to work for a cosmetic company, using your passion for cosmetics as motivation.Once you have acquired the necessary skills, then you can launch out.Its important not just to get the business aspect of it but also knowledge of the components of the type of cosmetic you are interested in. christy ebong

Hi,
Good question, you have a good answer above and I will try to add a few ideas as well. There are a lot of ways to work in any industry, you can work for a cosmetics company - start your own small business, be an independent consultant (maybe offer some free cosmetics work at a local fair, then start charging after the first few free ones), you can also look into franchises for cosmetics/beauty industry. Good luck!
This link has some cosmetics related careers and companies that you can research:

PS..I remember a girl a few years back that did a youtube video showing her cosmetics/make up skills...using social media is a good way to start too.

Hello Mia.
I would advise you to get a business degree. While getting that business degree you could go to Cosmetology School part-time , or get Esthetician Certification . Wish you the best!
