How did you choose your career?

I've always been very indecisive about what I wanted to do when I was younger, and it still troubles me till this day. Not because I lose interest in a job but because I want to do all of them. I want to be a doctor, an accountant, surgeon, novelist dancer. All subjects feel like a free for all for me with a limited-time limit. #Spring2025

What should I do if I'm stuck between two career options?

Part of me wants to become a cosmetologist, like a hairstylist or a makeup artist, but the other part wants to become a choir or music teacher. I've done research on both, and am in classes for both currently. (Online Cosmetology and Chorale).

How do I really start thinking about my future and setting goals?

I'm 17 and a high school senior. I hate being asked what my goals are and where I see myself in the future because I rarely ever think deeply about it. So, it's a real problem when I want to do something like apply for a scholarship and have to write an essay about it. Am I supposed to know exactly what I want to do? My interests: I'm currently going on a business career pathway, though I've never been entirely sure why. I can't figure out why I'm drawn to business. I'm also really into making music, specifically instrumental composition and production. I also have experience editing videos through my YouTube channel where I've made many video mashups for fun.

How does anyone move past the dread of having a job?

I'm serious! I really hate the idea of having a job, so how can anyone stand to have one? I've never had one before as a junior in high school, but the little work experience I do have tells me I could never do this every day for the rest of my life. I'm so lazy, I wish I could just live in this world without a job. How do you move past that feeling?

How do I know if I'm on the right track?

I am currently studying in one of the most prestigious university in my country and I am enrolled in a program wherein i did not want. I took the opportunity since the passing rate of this institution is very high, and i ended up realizing that this program isn't meant for me. So i decided to drop one of the major courses and decided i am going to shift next semester to BA Communication. What I'm afraid of is that I might make the same mistake twice and I'm currently in a point of my life wherein i do not know what i want; but i do need money. And I'm afraid that this program might not have as much opportunity as my current one (math). I have always believed/convinced myself that i am a STEM person. However i haven't realized until recently that what i want is to speak in large crowds, to inspire, and create stories that connects with people. And I have always wondered will this program sustain myself and my family in the future? Is it worth risking my future for something/ a course that i actually want to pursue? Please enlighten me.

Is it better to take an honors course or not?

I've heard from some people that you should take honors courses in college because it looks good on resumes and puts you in classes with other goal-oriented people, but I've also heard from other people that it's not worth it because it's a lot of extra work and will just end up giving you a lower grade in the class. #honors? #what-is-best? ##i-am-not-sure-what-i-want-to-do
