This is interesting to see some level dedication amongst our students. My daughter just completed her fundraising for HOSA and these are the ways she was able to raise funds:
-She made a flyer for babysitting opportunities in our community to support HOSA.
-She also created another fundraising campaign flyer with a QR Code and distributed to the community.
- She also spoke to families and friends to support her fundraising campaign.
I hope this helps. Thanks.

Hello Ebony!
Fundraising Ideas for HOSA
When planning fundraising activities for HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), it’s essential to consider a variety of strategies that can engage your community, promote teamwork among members, and effectively raise the necessary funds for state competitions. Here are several detailed ideas:
1. Community Events
Organizing community events can be an excellent way to raise funds while also promoting awareness about HOSA and its mission.
Health Fair: Host a health fair where students can provide free health screenings or educational workshops on topics like nutrition, first aid, or mental health. Charge local businesses a fee to set up booths or sponsor the event.
5K Fun Run/Walk: Plan a fun run or walk in your community. Participants can pay an entry fee, and you can also seek sponsorships from local businesses. This not only raises money but also promotes physical fitness.
2. Product Sales
Selling products is a straightforward way to generate funds.
Bake Sale: Organize a bake sale at school or local events. Encourage members to contribute baked goods and promote the sale through social media.
Merchandise Sales: Create and sell HOSA-themed merchandise such as t-shirts, water bottles, or tote bags. Use platforms like Custom Ink or Teespring to design and fulfill orders.
3. Service Projects
Offering services can be both beneficial for the community and profitable.
Car Wash: Set up a car wash in your school parking lot or a busy area in town. Charge a fee per car washed, and consider offering additional services like vacuuming or detailing for extra donations.
Pet Sitting/Dog Walking: Offer pet sitting or dog walking services within your community. This could be marketed through flyers or social media posts.
4. Online Fundraising
Utilizing online platforms can broaden your reach beyond just local supporters.
Crowdfunding Campaigns: Use platforms like GoFundMe or Kickstarter to create an online fundraising campaign. Share your story about why you need funds for the competition and encourage family and friends to donate.
Virtual Auctions: Organize an online auction where people can bid on donated items from local businesses or handmade crafts by HOSA members.
5. Partnerships with Local Businesses
Building relationships with local businesses can lead to mutually beneficial fundraising opportunities.
Dine-Out Nights: Partner with local restaurants that agree to donate a percentage of their sales on a specific night when customers mention HOSA.
Sponsorships: Approach local businesses for sponsorships in exchange for advertising their logos on promotional materials related to your fundraising efforts.
6. Educational Workshops
Leverage the skills of HOSA members by hosting workshops.
First Aid/CPR Classes: Offer certified first aid or CPR classes taught by qualified instructors from your group at a fee.
Health Education Seminars: Conduct seminars on various health topics relevant to your community, charging attendees for participation.
7. Raffles and Contests
Engaging the community through raffles can generate excitement while raising funds.
Raffle Prizes: Collect donated items from local businesses and hold a raffle where participants buy tickets for chances to win prizes.
Talent Show Contest: Organize a talent show where participants pay an entry fee, and attendees pay for tickets to watch performances.
By implementing these ideas, HOSA members can work together not only to raise funds but also to strengthen their bonds as they prepare for state competitions. It’s crucial that all fundraising efforts are well-promoted through social media channels, school newsletters, and community boards to maximize participation and support.
