Dona’s Answer

Currently, I work in a school setting and I work with preschool age children in a developmental preschool program. Over the years I have worked in hospitals, clinics, schools, non-profit agencies, and private practice. I have been in the field for 33 years and have worked with children most of those years. I prefer young children, and have worked with the birth-to-three population, visiting families in their homes, for 18 of those years. One of the great things about being an SLP is that you can chose to work with people across the entire life span in many different settings, including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, private practice, etc. There is always more to learn in this field!
