Hey Jason,
Honestly, For Me? Awwww,
😏....
Right right anyyways. I had say the best career choice isn’t always just one—it’s often a mix of experiences that shape who you are and what you truly love. From what I’ve seen (and lived through), exploring different careers is the smartest way to figure out what fits. I mean many fit perfectly for me 🤔...... Onwards!
My General Advice is:
Shadow professionals before committing—seeing a job in action is very different from just reading about it.
Try different roles through volunteering, internships, or side gigs. You might think you want one path, but another could surprise you.
Be open to unexpected opportunities—sometimes, the job you never considered turns out to be the perfect fit.
Now For My Own Experience🥸
Man, I don’t even know where to start. My life path seemed set in stone from the moment I was born—"It's a doctor! Congratulations!" But I did question it. A lot. And I tested other fields before fully committing.🤫
I shadowed surgeons, worked in business, did freelance gigs, and even tried labor work and gardening. Each experience taught me something valuable.
So for the Shadowing a Surgeon – Watching a life being saved? That was breathtaking. But even more powerful was witnessing the moments when things didn’t go as planned. Those experiences taught me how to handle high-pressure situations, comfort patients, and truly understand the emotional weight of medicine. ✨
Then, Teaching in a Primary School – First day? I cried. 👀👀 Yep, full-on emotional meltdown. Thought the principal was going to kick me out.🤣 I was done for! Buuuut, Instead, she told me something I’ll never forget—"We all start somewhere." I learned patience, leadership, and that sometimes, your biggest lessons come from the places you least expect.
Now about the Freelancing & Business – Oh, this was fun. Running projects, making deals, and realizing that work doesn’t always have to be traditional. It made me see that success isn’t just one path—it’s what you make of it. And even bringing back those traditions of a country makes many people remember and want to participate and enjoy it once again.
The best career choices for me, aren’t just about picking a job. They’re about experiencing life, learning, and growing through every step. My journey as a doctor isn’t the only path I’m on—I’ve loved every detour along the way Jason, and I have goals that align with many careers along the way but my permanent advancing career is the MD, though I know my limits😉 and that's why I enjoy every track I follow😎.
So Jason, don’t stress about finding “the one” perfect choice. Try things. Learn. Explore. And trust me, you’ll find something that truly excites you. 🤗 Good luck man, if you have anything in mind don't hesitate to reach out!

Hi Jason, that's a great question. One of the best decisions I made for my career was shadowing a nurse before choosing to become one. It's important to evaluate your skills, passions, and goals to find the right career for you. For instance, if you love helping others but aren't fond of animals, becoming a vet might not be the best fit. Instead, being a doctor or nurse could be a better choice. You should find a job you enjoy, and often, you can't truly understand a job until you see or try it yourself. That's why I decided to shadow a nurse, and I loved it. That experience motivated me to push through nursing school, even when it was tough, because I could see myself enjoying that career. I also did a nurse apprenticeship during school to see if I liked working in the ICU, and I did. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't tried it. So, explore what you're passionate about, find jobs that align with those passions, and shadow people in those roles. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. The most important is to find out the careers you have interest.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Hey Jason,
The best career choice I've made so far is the decision to enter the field of IT Audit. As an accountant a lot of the times people think that your job is very tedious and repetitive with few opportunities to grow and development. However, the field of IT Audit allows the opportunity for me to learn about the latest technologies being introduced in a variety of industries such as health care, sports, and beauty along with the cybersecurity practices that are being implemented to protect consumer information that serve as the source to these technologies.

Hi Jason!
Great question! I hope you get lots of different answers. For me, the best career choice was joining Verizon. I was thinking about becoming a teacher or an actuary, but then the Verizon job came up, and I decided to give it a shot. It's been amazing because Verizon has roles in everything from marketing to strategy to learning and development. There are so many options, and I can try out lots of different things. My advice to you is to explore all your options. Don't dismiss anything because it doesn't seem perfect at first. You might discover something even better than you imagined!
