What is the best way to make connections in college for a career in the film industry, namely with regard to acting, writing, cinematography, and/or directing? I am a graduating high school senior with zero connections with any other filmmakers or artists. I am looking to break out of my shell and create a huge network of people - primarily in the film industry - when I go into college (Biola University). Any specific tips or tricks (other than the obvious: make friends and get help from professors)?

Your choice - no right or wring, but it would be good to know as you make decisions.
I should preface that I am wrong a lot! So...
Creatively…
If you then get into writing and producing , I believe you will understand “character” more if you start out in the theater dept for acting (get over any stage fright as well!). Will come in handy if you write and direct.
It used to be a wide range, but with today’s technology all of these entities really are more interconnected.
That said, perhaps start with theater - every other actor is looking to expand with writers, directors, producers. And som of the actors are also writer/director/producers!
Strategically - look up Performing Arts Alumni who have won on to successful careers. Write to them.
I hope this, in a small way, helps

You can join some film organizations if they are free, and look out for any opportunities that want Volunteers. Then you can volunteer! This would be a great chance for you to get in touch with filmmakers.
The same applies to film events, like any screenings, festivals, clubs.
If you have extra time, you can pay attention to some film production companies in your area, and see if they offer internships, or volunteer opportunities and apply.
That said, those can be done when you have extra free time. Kindly note, networking can be time consuming. Right now, I believe study is your primary focus.
Good luck!
