How do I learn to deal with "fast friends?" Meaning the girls that are your friends in the beginning of college but will not be lifelong or even year long friends and the fact that you will frequently change friends and groups while finding your place?
Is there a way to be more go with the flow as a rigid person?

Friendship has many levels, from acquaintances and casual friends to best friends. As we grow older and meet more people, it's normal and important to have these different layers of friendship. Even with fast friends, we can still enjoy the moments we share together.

A very insightful question!
Remember that friendships can span moments and years. Cherish those moments and stay true, authentic, honest and trustworthy, with the understanding that friendships ebb and flow. You will go through changes with friends, but this helps to get to know yourself better, your boundaries, and what you stand for. Friendships are more about you since to have friends, you must be friendly first.
Also, set expectations but don't pressure yourself. The people who are meant to be in your life for a lifetime, will show themselves.
Take care!
