Is it possible I can do a minor and major when I applied to college for next year
Specifically, next year I'm applying to NTID, Gallaudet, and Hunter College.
I'm thinking about doing a major and minor. So is it possible for me to do both?

Yes—you absolutely can pursue a major and a minor, and it can be a great way to build on your interests and combine different areas of study.
When choosing a minor, I’d suggest looking for something that complements your major, even if it’s not an obvious pairing. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s adding perspective. For example, I was an accounting major with a minor in information systems, which gave me a broader skill set and helped me bridge business and technology.
There are many combinations you can explore depending on the career path you’re interested in and what genuinely excites you. It’s also worth considering options beyond a formal minor, such as certificate programs or specialized coursework.
That said, be mindful of your time. Depending on your major and minor, you may not have a lot of flexibility—and that’s okay. Finding the right balance is important, and learning how to manage that balance is a valuable skill in itself as you prepare for your future career.

Lots of people pursue a minor because they think it looks good. I actually think there's another benefit - you get to go deeper into a subject you're really interested in. I think a lot of the time students wind up with majors because they realize they've taken a bunch of classes in a particular area just because the classes looked interesting. And then it turns out they are eligible for a minor.
But, my kids will tell you, my advice is always, you do you. Follow your interests. Be true to yourself. Don't always play the long game worrying about what's going to be most valuable 10 years out. Life is short. Take a breath. Laugh with a friend and figure out what you want to learn.

The short answer is Yes! It is possible to do both a major and a minor. I would encourage researching the major and minors you are specifically interested in and the requirements to obtain those degrees. Some majors and minors are more difficult than others. For example, programs such as computer science and organic chemistry may require more of your time. Be aware that you may be busier and have less freedom to take other elective courses as you will typically need to complete the required courses for your major and minor. So overall, yes it is definitely possible but I encourage you to do some research on what subjects you are interested in and is offered at the universities you are applying for.
