Hello, Ophelia !

How much homework you'd have for college is impossible to know unless it's your first day of classes and the professor outlines the course work for the students. They usually give you a good idea of reports you'll need to do and any lab work, practicums or projects and usually tell you about how many exams you'd have.

By asking this question, it indicates that you are concerned about the work involved as compared to what you may be having in high school. You would major in Psychology as that will qualify you to work with the criminal population later on. I highly advise not majoring in Forensic psychology as that degree would limit you for obtaining work as a Psychologist. Psychology is the career and forensics is the population. You'd be expected to work with all populations if you'd want to get work and make the good income that Psychologists make.

That being said, Psychology is pretty much a heavy, serious Major, requiring more than just being in a classroom. Yes, you'll notice that college is a lot more work than high school. If you are apprehensive about the commitment, I would suggest that you register for an orientation to get to know the college and the campus and get a general feel for it. You can also ask if you can audit one of the psychology courses to get an idea of the lectures.

Another thing you can do is take one course your first semester or before you enroll full time to see how it goes for you with the requirements. Each one of your college courses are going to have different work requirements, that's why no one can tell you now how much homework or work you'd have.

Talk this out with someone at your high school such as your guidance counselor or the school social worker. If you have a social worker or counselor at your school, they would be perfect people to ask about the college work load as they've been through it.

I wish you all the best and hope this helps a little !
