What are some things I should be doing now to prepare for a career as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant, especially while finishing my undergrad?
I am studying nursing at Florida Southern College and I am in their pre-anesthesiology assistant program.

Katlynn,
Have you ever considered going to graduate school to be a CRNA? Since you are studying nursing that would be an amazing option for you! I am a CRNA and love it! You will have more schooling going that tonight but will have much more autonomy in your career, greater pay, greater knowledge and skills! I could give you some advice about becoming a CRNA if you are interested!

To get ready for a career as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA), focus on keeping a good GPA, especially in science classes needed for the program. Get clinical experience by shadowing, volunteering, or working in healthcare to gain patient contact hours. Join research projects, student groups, or take on leadership roles to make your application stronger. Start studying for entrance exams like the GRE or MCAT and learn about different CAA programs to know their specific needs. Also, build your network, find a mentor, and create a personal story that shows your motivation and experiences in healthcare. Believe in yourself.
