What software platforms are good for creating digital art?

I'm interested in medical illustration, and I want to start creating digital art but don't really know what is the best software program to use.

Hi Mya!
I’ve been making digital art for about 5 years, and I’ve found the app Procreate to be really great for making digital art. However, if you’re looking got make vectorized digital art, I would recommend Adobe Illustrator or another similar app.

I use Clip Studio Paint for all my work nowadays. It's very similar to Photoshop, but I think it runs more smoothly, the layout is easy to customize, and I like the default brushes more. There's also some extra tools built in for comic artists and 2D animators.
