Which career path fits both science and design interests
Hi! I’m currently in grade 12 and trying to figure out the right career path for me. I know I don’t want to choose only science or only creative fields, I want a mix of both. I do lean more toward science, but I’d love to keep creativity and design/innovation in my career as well. Some things about me: I enjoy biology, research, discussions, and creativity (especially design/innovation). I’m interested in fields like biomedical science, biotechnology, neuroscience, medical illustration, or healthcare product design/management. I want stability and financial security first, but also interest and growth opportunities. In the future, I’d like to pursue my Master’s abroad (and maybe work abroad long-term). Some things I don’t want: Coding or tech-heavy careers, Pure genetics-focused paths, Engineering, Patient interaction or dissection, Careers that are extremely academic-heavy forever. I’d really appreciate advice on: 1. Which Bachelor’s degree options might fit me best. 2. Which career paths could balance science with creativity/innovation. Any suggestions for combining stability, financial growth, and my interests. Thank you so much for helping me out!
What does the day in the life of a medical illustrator look like?
This is a dream job of mine and I'd really love an inside perspective of what this looks like!
What internships should I be looking for if I'm interested in medical illustration?
I'm a sophomore in college and I'm interested in medical illustration and have been trying to find internships within this however, some internships I've seen already require some type of expertise within the practice.
What software platforms are good for creating digital art?
I'm interested in medical illustration, and I want to start creating digital art but don't really know what is the best software program to use.
How do I know if the medical illustration is for me?
I'm majoring in studio art with a minor in biology. I became interested in medical illustration last summer and since then I've loved it. However, before I had an interest in medical illustration, I was highly into sneaker design. Though they both have to do with art, they are two completely different realms of art. I know medical illustration is what I want to do, but I guess some days I think about my other alternative.
How can I start work as a self-employed illustrator Are there any internships that could help build my portfolio??
I’m a skilled artist and plan to major in Biology. Medical illustration seems like a good career path for me, but I’m not sure how I would get started.
Any Medical Illustrators Available If so I have a question concerning some tips? If you were in my position now, what would you be doing knowing you will eventually pursue medical illustration? ?
I'm a high school junior currently taking classes in the health sciences pathway at my school and I was wondering what skills and habits I should at the very least put into practice now since I would like to pursue medical illustration later in life. Maybe even possible classes I should take in the future. I'm already into art and draw pretty much daily (though I don't practice realism as much as I should). I also love learning about the human body and how it works, even in my spare time. After high school, I would probably pursue a bachelor's degree in some sort of health science. I unfortunately can't pursue an art degree because of financial burdens. But I digress, if anyone is willing to provide insight just know I really appreciate it!
