What can be the most rewarding or disheartening part of being a Veterinarian?

I'm majoring in biology and thinking about going into vet school, and lately, I've been wondering about the mental health stuff that vets deal with. I keep hearing about how tough the job can be, especially when it comes to making hard medical decisions and dealing with losing animal patients. I really want to get a grip on these challenges because I know it’s not just about learning the medical stuff. I need to be ready emotionally for everything that comes with being a vet, too!.

The most rewarding thing about being a veterinarian is loving animals. The hardest thing is seeing them go, even if they can't be saved. But if you can balance both, you'll be able to cope without being affected by the saddest part of this profession.
