Shane’s Answer

School gives you a great beginning. When i graduated i thought i was a welder. When i got into the field i realized there is only so much you can learn from a school. I work in the shipyard and nothing is worked in place and right in front of you , weather conditions effect your work. Pay attention in school and learn as much as you can but realize the real schooling begins once you gain employment.

Brian’s Answer

Everything, you learn the basics in welding school. You'll learn the most on the job from the people that have been welding for 20 or 30 years.
