Fallon’s Answer

You may find a good school. Follow a good podcast on YouTube. Also, books. Books are a great resource! And don't forget experiential learning. Try things out on your own too if you feel inclined.

Virginia (ginny)’s Answer

If you're curious about the world's political climate, now is the ideal time to express your views. With so much happening, these challenges and uncertainties can inspire meaningful art. If sharing your stories feels risky due to possible censorship, it means you're tackling important topics. Consider the practical advice from Fallon. Reflect on art history, like WWII Bauhaus in Germany and Ancient Art, which used storytelling through art. Combine this historical insight with practical suggestions to develop your ideas and choose the best medium for your message.

Roberta’s Answer

Hi there! It is not crazy to go after art if you have great talent. You can create your art during your entire life and try to sell it if that is your goal. I would combine art classes (painting, for example) with business classes. So many artists supposedly know almost nothing about how to market and sell their art. Learn how to get exhibitions in local galleries or museums. Learn how some of your artistic creations can include AI so you can stay in the"real" world. Maybe you want to study architecture and sell your art on the side? Maybe you can copyright designs/art you produce and sell them to platforms like Picsart? Try to look at art as beauty but also as a business. You could also get a degree in Art History or curation and try to work for a museum or galleries, and sell your art on the side. And don't forget to see where your art fits with media fields. I hope this helped!

Leo’s Answer

Hi Benjamin. I'm curious as to why you asked the question? What makes you feel that the climate is crazy for artists? My suggestion is to focus on the type of art you love and do it at some point every day. If you like illustration, then produce at least one piece of art daily and post it online to get eyes on it. Look for "meetups" near your area (there should be plenty between Cary and Raleigh) where other artists get together. This builds your network and keep making art. Don't worry about the climate. Things always get hyped and typically never end up disrupting anything. If AI is what you are referring to, don't worry about it. Learn to live with AI. There is always going to be a demand on the human connection of art. I'm personally starting another career after being a corporate executive where I'm doing 3D modeling, animation and design. I've always loved this and was a designer a good portion of my career. AI is being hyped as removing the need for what I want to do, but you have to filter the noise out and keep pushing. Do what you love man. It's what you're meant to do.
