What is something education majors should do to ensure they can become the best teacher they can be?

Are there any programs, clubs, or classes that can help better prepare students to become teachers?

Hi, decide which age groups you like to teach : elementary, middle, or H.S. ? your teaching credential program will be single subject ( HS/ JR HS - 1 academic subject you'll teach all day to multiple classes) OR Multiple subjects ( the lower grades ) OR there is a H UGE need for Special Ed teachers- there are many different types areas to specialize in but, be sure you guidance from a teacher mentor or counselor. Also, before you get to your student teaching level, be sure to spend time with youth's in a summer camp or after school program to see how you like interacting with that age group. Good luck
