When it comes to book publishing, how much are the publishers usually involved with the authors they're working with?

Does the publishing team help with everything from the book cover and editing to setting up book signings?

I agree with Kate on this one. How much a publisher will be involved with your book depends on the publisher you choose to work with. Before signing up with anyone, it's a good idea to first do your research and ask them as many questions as possible, so you can have a clear idea of what they will be helping you with and what you would need to do on your own.

An agent is a good avenue to choose but learning how to write your own query letters to publishers is always the best option. I also agree with the statement about ensuring that your book is as polished as possible. You want to make a good impression on publishers, and this requires that you give them a book you'd be proud to publish.

Furthermore, write, write, and then write some more. This will help you perfect your craft so you can have a bigger chance at getting published by a traditional publisher.

Good luck on this journey, I am sure you will do great, and your work is absolutely fantastic.

This is pretty dependent on the publisher. For my first book, they did the cover but didn’t manage any promotions. I was very young and didn’t know what I was doing at all! The publisher I worked with was little more than a vanity press, but it was cool anyway.

For my next, I’m looking to move to a more established publishing house and will be working through an agency. It’s always a good idea to try to get linked up with an agent, if possible. Make sure your work is as polished as possible and research how to write agent queries. Good luck!!
