Thank you comment icon Thank you for your question. For that, you can look for a job that suits your hobby. However, when you don't have a hobby, you can do various activities that you may like or you can do it and do it regularly. Alifah

Hello Ashlyn,

There are many different types of jobs that you can get when you are 15-16. It really depends on what your interests are and what the jobs you want require. For myself, I started my job career as a Lifeguard at the YMCA for a year then, I did Moviehouse & Eatery for a year(eventually came back), then I went to Planet Fitness which right now I work at Moviehouse and Planet Fitness. I like having two jobs because it is an easy way to gain experience quick, can help with financial security and the two jobs I have are flexible in terms of hours. If you are thinking about jobs I would suggest jobs like lifeguarding, movie theaters, gyms and swim instructing for example because they don't usually require a ton of experience and pay decent depending on your experience. Hope you are able to find a job that you want and keep applying to as many jobs as you can because it increases your chance of getting something. Best of luck to you!

If you're almost 15 and thinking about your first job, it's a great idea to start by figuring out what kind of work you love. Do you like spending time with kids, animals, or maybe working with food? Picking something that matches your interests will make the job more fun and satisfying. For instance, if you're good at school, you could tutor younger kids in math, English, or science. This not only helps them but also strengthens your own skills. If you like creating things, selling homemade items like sandwiches or eggs to neighbors or at a local market can be exciting and teach you about running a business. Whatever you choose, make sure it's something you enjoy—it will make learning and gaining experience much more enjoyable and rewarding.

Karen’s Answer

Great you are looking at jobs and you will probably have a number of choices. Having a variety of experiences can help you later to determine your interests and skills.

If you need funds, I'd suggest creating a flyer which lists all the things you are willing to do such as run errands, child care, garden assistance, house cleaning, etc. Include days and times you are available and the more flexible you can be, the better. Include contact phone and email. Distribute to your family, neighbors, relatives and friends.

Also consider volunteering for various nonprofits such as serving a meal, helping at an event or visiting an elderly person. Those experiences will also help you develop team skills and perhaps learn about different cultures and lifestyles.

With every good wish and many blessings!
