Thank you for your question. I can feel your passion to have education.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Explore any government subsidy / financial aids would be given to student
2. There may be government or NGOs offers study loans to students. The repayment will start upon graduation
3. You can also check with the school any scholarship is available
4. Discuss with your parents and relative to see if they can give you some financial support
5. Explore any part time job opportunities, e.g. working in school libraries, babysitters / gardeners for our neighbors, etc. Please ensure the job is suitable for you and safe.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Hi Mukunya First I want to commend you on your choice to pursue your education. In regard to your question, may I ask where in the world are you and where would you like to pursue your education? For instance, here in America we have transfer programs for international students who wish to pursue there education here in addition to recieving scholarships and financial aid to do so. Many scholarships are also given for those who possess extraordinary skill sets in the specific area. An example would be right now those wanting to pursue Computer Science and Finance. I believe there are options such as this in many other countries as well for international prospective students. My advice is to first think about the major you'd like to pursue and research about the educational path you would need to take in order to gain the degree and skills needed for what your career path. Next, you need to research universities with the program you want to pursue and see what they require for admissions as well as what they offer for international students in terms of financial aid. Then you can begin contacting admissions advisors and they will guide you to what you would need to do in order to become a student there. If you would like I would be happy to help you. Maybe create a list of a few questions more detailed to answers your looking for that will give you a better understanding of what you can do to get the ball rolling on the process. Have a great day and I wish you all the best!

Hello, Mukunya !
I am happy that you've come to Career Village to ask this question. You just need a bit of information to help you realize that there is assistance for college students in Uganda. You do not obtain a "sponsor" rather you apply for assistance.
In Uganda, scholarships and grants are provided by your government and international organizations, so you can apply for financial assistance. The African Leadership Forum's Youth Leadership Competition (for ages 18 - 25) is something you can apply to. The International University of East Africa and Victoria University offer scholarships for talented students in Uganda. The Muljibhai Madhavani Foundation and the MasterCard Foundation offer scholarships, too. Look these up online or ask your headmaster or counselor to assist you with this.
To apply for Government Student Financial Aid in Uganda, visit the website of the Higher Education Students Financing Board. You can have someone help you with this and explain the process. This financial aid comes in the form of scholarships and loans - so talk about loans with your parents because you will have to pay back the loans if you accept them.
So it just takes some exploring and this is a great time to become more familiar with what is available for you so that you can enroll in college. Your Secondary School counselor probably has a lot of information about this, so try to visit the office and learn more. Best wishes in all you do !

You can apply for many scholarships, as well as apply for financial aid or student loans. There are many resources out there that will help you pay for school. Next research the path you choose to pursue see what scholarships or loans they have available for that particular path.

Erin’s Answer
First, apply for as many scholarships as you can.
Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of unconventional criteria, such as having unique talents, interests, or personal characteristics.
Scholarships often reward creativity and individualism, encouraging students to stand out through unique accomplishments or interests.
Programs like the Collegiate Inventors Competition provide national platforms to celebrate and support student ingenuity and achievements.
Second, many jobs offer tuition reimbursement as a benefit if you are working while going to school. Larger companies/corporations (i.e. financial institutions, health Insurance companies, etc.) typically have these tuition reimbursement programs as part of their benefits package. Some companies even have discount programs for higher education tuition costs, partnering with online-based schools to provide options.
Check out scholarships.com for some unusual scholarships with more unique factors. They have listed $5000 scholarship for a duck calling contest, many $1000-$5000 essay contest scholarships, philanthropic cause scholarships like $10,000 vegetarian resource group scholarship for promoting vegetarianism in your school and/or community... the list goes on.
Check with your employer about higher education financial assistance benefits, or look for jobs that offer this benefit while you put yourself through school.
