What colleges offer Diagostic Medical Sonography and also have a good softball team?
I have looked at some questions already like mine, but after researching the colleges, all the colleges have one or the other, not both. I am going into my junior year so I really need help to decide where I want to go so I can start reaching out to college coaches for softball.

Hi Bella:
It is rare that you will find a sonography program at a four year college or university.
But, you can find them at a junior or community college.
Two options, in your region, that also have softball teams, are Cypress Community College, and Orange Coast College.
What you might do is write and construct something called an Athletic Resume and Cover Letter, that you can send to the various softball coaches. There are several examples of these found online and on the internet.
Basically, it is similar to a job resume, but instead of outlining all your job skills qualities, you will instead be outlining and emphasizing your athletics skills, abilities, positions played, awards, academic skills and goals, and other elements of your current athletic career.
Once you complete your Athletic Resume and Cover Letter, I would get the address of the various coaches, of the colleges you wish to attend, and send it directly to them through the postal mail. It is rare these days that coaches get actual letters (the get thousands of emails), so they are more likely to pay attention to you letter and send you information on the college athletic program, and the academic program you wish to enter, when you reach their college.
I have used the Athletic Resume and Cover Letter very effectively with my students, so it might be worth putting one together and sending it out to the various colleges you are interested in playing softball with.

Great day to you Bella!
Thank you for the opportunity to asist. You could look into a Technical or Community school for a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Many of the community colleges also have JUCO (Junior College) athletic programs which you can participate in. If you prefer, there is an opportunity to attend a 4 year school yet a 2 year degree is the requirement for sonography. Lastly, there are several programs nearby to your area in Orange County, including Cypress College, Orange Coast College, and Concorde Career College's Garden Grove campus.

Consider starting at a junior college where you can earn a certificate and join a team. This experience will help you decide if you want to continue with this major at a four-year college.

Hello, Bella !
I do not believe that anyone can tell you if a softball team at a college is good or not (that's for you to decide), but Santa Ana College does have a softball team but does not offer Sonography.
You can call some colleges that serve Garden Grove like Modern Technology School, CBD College or West Coast Ultrasound Institute which offers a Bachelors Degree in Sonography. Call the schools to find out of they have a softball team. Establish if you'll be going for an Associates Degree or a Bachelors Degree in Sonography. Your high school guidance counselor could help you track down more colleges for Sonography, too.
As for a softball team, it's just a matter of calling the schools to find out. If you can't find a school that has both, consider joining or starting a softball team in the area in which you end up going to college. Garden Grove does have a Softball team/program for adults and I left the link to their website for you below. There is mostly information online about High School Softball for Garden Grove, CA.
It's going to be important for you to research schools for Sonography and choose a strong program that will prepare you for your career. Consider doing softball off campus if that's what you'll have to do. Weigh out the time commitments you'll need to make for your sonography studies and lab work and find out how much of a time commitment softball will be and if there would be any conflict in schedules.
Reach out to the City of Garden Grove' s Adult Softball Program as they most likely would be able to help you and give you the choices you could make. The link to their website is below.
I hope you find a college you really like and I wish you all the best !
