What to do next?

I am a MA in Professional and Business Communication, graduated in 2014. I managed to get a job with Oracle as a sales representative, however as I was based outside my home country I had to leave my job and return back to my country due to personal issues. Now that everything is sorted out I find myself stuck due to lack of job opportunities. I have been applying for various jobs since last month, however have not got a decent offer yet.
Should I look to pursue an MBA to increase my chances, or should I continue to look for jobs and not give up?

Please suggest.

Although it might seem like a lifetime, Rishabh, please try not to become too worried at the one-month mark. There is some great advice mentioned above. Networking and volunteering often go hand in hand, and both are essential in getting noticed.

Hi Rishabh,

I suggest you to search your network of contacts (friends, professionals you know or who has ever worked, University of colleagues) in order to get knowledge about any job opportunity or selective process of opening for business. Another tip is to seek job opportunities in outplacement companies, as these organizations have a database with offers and job opportunities.

Don´t give up. Continue seeking. You have qualifications and experience, and this is a very important point, essential for organizations.

I wish you good luck on your journey!

Thank you comment icon Finding a job is a full-time job. Things to do to improve your job opportunities. 1) A Perfect Resume! Remember this is the first impression. If you're not sure whether it's the best it can be, have a professional look it over and make edits. 2) Network, Network, Network! Professionals for the most part like to help young professionals. Go talk to them and when you're done, ask them for 2 more people you can talk with about career options. Be sure to send a thank you within 48 hours. 3) Volunteer. Show that you are invested in doing the right thing and keeping your skills up. 4) When you present yourself in writing or in person, always follow up. Most importantly -- Be positive. Keep up your energy. Stay focused.! A perfect job for you is out there! Penelope Ettinger
